I am not really sure what this is doing, can you attach a sample image of it in action please?!

The std render shows it in action, but I will post some more spectacular usues (particles?)/pics (an animation would be great) for it asap. To see for yourself, just take an object with this surf applied, animate it moving/flying through scene in any direction and render ;), the appearing highlight is driven by velocity, so you may have to adjust color/luminosity gradient if your objet's speed is either faster or slower than the one I used for std render. The "Average Velocity Frame Range" controls how many frames will be used to calculate object's average speed, it does this to avoid color poping when your object accelerates rapidly from frame to frame. I hope that a simple animation will be able to clarify what it actually does, I'm going to make one asap.

Here you go, pstc's sphere with this (well, not exactly this, I've made a newer version) preset applied and animated: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APuLpLW-xAk
The newer version will be either a separate preset or it will overwrite the old one. I've already emailed pstc's team about it.

Hi NoWhere Man, I'm on holiday with no proper access so can't easily replace the preset data. I suggest you upload the revised copy as a new preset.
Ps, tried your YouTube bid, but sadly it says the iPhone version isn't available yet. Will be sure to check it out when I return from holiday.
