As the title says. I’ve noticed the old preset directory has been inaccessible for a while. So I’ve added them all together into one big Zip file for you all. It comes in at 80mb so go make yourself a cup of tea or coffee.

Ben, the other one, contacted me the other day about the difficulties he was having with his host and Lightwiki.com.
A few weeks later and PresetCentral is now the proud new host of Ben Vost’s site. Hopefully this will mean speedier and more reliable access for all.
PS: If there are any other LW sites experiencing hosting issues, give me a shout.

Andrew Rowson, my dear friend who has been helping me put together the new version of Presetcentral.com, has put the finishing touches on the main site that is to host the PSPlant client.
For those of you not familiar with PSPlant should have a look at this page.
Andrew was keen for PSPlant to open source and available to Lightwave’s more technical users to enhance and tinker with. The code is C# and will be available via an SVN repo.

Finally somebody has the balls to give Autodesk a bloody nose. For a long time I’ve thought Autodesk’s policy of not allowing legitimate users of their software to sell own their copies of software.
As we all know, Newtek has allowed for a long while and is one of the many reasons people are happy to part with their hard earned money in the first place. Knowing you can sell your copy of Lightwave when you no longer need it has been a key selling point, for the amateur market at least.
To quote from the statement:
“A lawsuit has been filed in Federal Court (US District Court for the Western Washington District C07-1189 JLR) that alleges Autodesk, Inc maker of the industry standard AutoCAD software and their attorney Andrew S. Mackay have devised an illegal scheme to have used copies of their software removed from the eBay site using the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Hi everyone, sorry for having been particularly quiet recently. Unfortunately I have been going through some personal trouble and have taken time off from the Internet and computers.
Rest assured Presetcentral.com will be back with blog entries and an update on the PSPlant project.
Cheers, Ben

I expect the site to be down for a few hours later today, but it should be back shortly pending a DNS change.
